Key Features
The Silverstein Classic Soprano Saxophone Reed is designed for lovers of cane reeds. It matches the profile of a classic saxophone reed, using materials updated for the 21st century. A member of Silverstein's second generation of synthetic reeds, it is made using Ambipolymer - a material with the authenticity of cane but the benefits of a highly engineered synthetic material.
The Classic reed offers you a warm sound with a pronounced core. Aimed at advanced players, the reed has moderate resistance throughout, resulting in a warm core to the tone. The reed is ideal for both live settings and studio use, perfect for the solo performer seeking fluency and harmonically rich tones throughout the range of their instrument.

Silverstein's second generation of synthetic reeds are made with Ambipolymer - a special artificial material which has been invented specifically for use in reeds. Ambipolymer reeds behave incredibly similarly to cane - with an even sound quality across all registers and powerful projection with full harmonics. They retain moisture for upwards of five hours from a 30 second wet, and adjust to the shape of your mouthpiece and embouchure just like a cane reed.
All Silverstein Ambipoly reeds are formed using precision moulding technology, ensuring absolute consistency. Gone are the days where you have to try several reeds of the exact same strength just to find the right one for you. The consistency of these reeds also guarantees a long life, with zero degradation or deformations for 12+ months. And if you ever want to sharpen up the performance of your reed, Ambipoly reeds can be sanded, clipped, and generally adjusted with all of the reed tools you would use on cane.
