Endlesss sits at a table of its own in the realm of digital audio workstations, carving out a niche that hasn't been explored in any detail until now. A truly unique and versatile music-making program, Endlesss lets you express your creativity in unrivalled speed and detail, forcing you to focus on moving forward instead of mulling over already recorded segments and sections. Flesh out ideas using intuitive instruments and effects with a tremendous level of control and even invite friends or like-minded musicians from around the globe to jam remotely, think social media for music makers!

Straying away from traditional linear workstations whereby you have a directive flow of how your music comes to life, Endlesss is the brainchild of Tim Exile, employing similar techniques found in his custom-made live improv Native Instruments Reaktor patch where an endless flow of music creation could be quickly created and effected, constantly seeking what comes next - and how to get there. What Endlesss allows you to do is use simple, built-in sound pads (as well as external audio through auxiliary audio or microphone connectivity) to quickly tap in beats, melodies and chords, committing each idea to a baked-in loop of audio. Employing the idea of a retrospective looper, you remove the pressure of traditional loopers whereby you are required to record and repeat exactly the moves you just made, instead you can play until you nail the part, commit to it and move on to the next layer of your arrangement.

The flow machine

Using a simple grid for each instrument allows you to very quickly jot down using the pads, the sounds you hear in your head and make them a reality. Each pad within the grid is quantised to the beat (this feature can be turned off to harness the energy of beatmakers such as J-Dilla), allowing you easy beat creation with immaculate timing, where then effects can be dynamically layered on top of your sound using a very similar approach with a sweepable dial to eliminate difficult interfaces or confusing parameters. A strong focus on "what's next", lets you build up your ideas quickly and implement the effects you need to achieve these sounds and capture them at breakneck speeds without the worry of overcomplicating your arrangement or mixing as a limit is placed on the number of parts you can add to focus on what you already have.

A unique interface constantly presents you with opportunities to augment, remix or add some new flavour to your sounds and audio, allowing you to commit these sounds to baked-in audio that is stored within your jam.  In any other DAW, it is always easiest to repeat material already created rather than extensively rework and progress it, which can lead to stale, circular music without a ‘storyline’ through it. What you will quickly discover is that Endlesss by design leads to the creation of flowing, progressive music where one idea organically evolves into the next idea, and very quickly, you have all the stages and parts of what could become a full track, since every time you ‘loop’, Endlesss saves that stage, allowing you to track back and return to it if you wish, or to export its layers for use elsewhere.

Remote collaboration

You can invite friends and like-minded musicians to collaborate and jam together on your track, no matter where in the world they are. Playalong together with friends and see all the changes, loops, beats, instruments or audio they have integrated into a loop in real-time within your DAW, or invite a friend to collaborate on a track while you're not at your workstation and return to a finished track with a new lease of life! The power of two is greater than one, where you may be unsure where to take your music to next, a fresh set of ears could be the answer you need. A basic text chat function is built in so you can communicate your ideas with your collaborators as you play, with an infinite number of invited musicians working together. This takes the traditional idea of "one at a time" studio recording sessions and completely turns it on its head.

Expand on your setup

Not simply limited to the sounds integrated with Endlesss, you can integrate almost any piece of equipment or gear that you may have and love into your streamlined musical creation. Connect external devices such as hardware synthesizers or even microphones into your Endlesss Studio and perform on instruments, sing or even sample your hardware synths at lightning-fast speeds to create sounds you are familiar with or take them to a completely new plane with the built-in effects. Each element of your loop can be effect uniquely and individually for flexible control over the sounds you input, for example, you could record a simple vocal melody and gate, add reverb, saturate only your vocal line for a chopped, staccato effect.

Endlesss Desktop can be mapped to any number of generic MIDI controllers to make it as hands-on as possible. On tablets and smartphones, the app takes full advantage of touch control, giving you the ability to 'play' in your performances in unrivalled control. Special integration for Ableton Push 2 is included, however, making use of the screens, pads and dials to create a tightly integrated physical front-end for Endlesss Desktop.

Installation instructions

• Please first go to endless.fm
• If you already have an account, please log in. If you do not yet, please create an account
• Once you are logged in, head to the accounts page (endlesss.fm/accounts)
• Next, click on ‘Enter License Code’ and copy & paste the code from Gear4Music
• Once this has successfully gone through, please select ‘Download MacOS’ to start downloading Endlesss Studio
• After you have downloaded the installer, please run it
• Once complete, you are ready to launch either the Standalone or plug-in version of Endlesss Studio
• The first time, you will be prompted to authorise the product by logging in with your Endlesss account details
• After this you are all set up to start using Endlesss Studio!
