AJH Dual LFO & VCA, Black (10HP) Overview
The AJH Dual LFO & VCA, Black is a module that comprises of 2 independent LFOs with adjustable waveshapes, and a DC coupled VCA. Each LFO features triangle and square wave outputs with attenuators for adjusting the wave shape and rate. This allows you to transform the triangle into a sawtooth, ramp wave, and anything in between. Additionally, LFO 1 features an extra low range and sync (reset) input allowing you to restart the waveform. The VCA is normalised, which allows you to add variable depth modulation to VCO and VCF modules. It also responds to control voltage allowing you to modulate the levels of the LFO without needing to patch in other modules.

The AJH Dual LFO & VCA includes 2 completely independent LFOs. Each of the LFOs features a triangle and square output. The “shape” knob allows you to continuously vary the actual waveshape, which results in different movements. The module also enables you to adjust the frequency/rate of the LFOs with the “rate” knob. When the shape knob is set to full clockwise or counterclockwise, the max frequency will go up to the audio range, to as high as 1kHz. Additionally, the module features a sync output that allows you to restart the triangle and square wave from a sync waveform with a fast leading edge (eg. squarewave). This is particularly useful when using slower modulation speeds. For example, a gate or trigger from a MIDI to CV converter can be used to reset the start of a waveform when pressing a key.
Normalised VCA
The module features a VCA that has a linear response curve, and is also DC coupled, making it ideal with modulation sources. It allows the modulation level of the LFO to be voltage controlled without having to patch in other modules. The VCA input is normalised to the triangle output of LFO 2. This makes the output from LFO 2 automatically available from the output of the VCA. When a signal is patched into the VCA input, it defeats the normalisation. This means that the signal patched into it would be routed through the VCA instead, allowing you to control modulation from an external module.
Design
The layout and design of the Dual LFO & VCA makes it ideal for live performance. AJH have carefully designed it so your cables stay out of the way when adjusting knobs and switches. All the patch points are positioned at the bottom of the module, whilst all the knobs are at the top, leaving you free to make adjustments without getting caught on any cables. Coated in a sleek, black finish, the AJH Dual LFO & VCA offers a simplified interface and professional appearance.
