The ART SLA 2 is a true linear amplifier, ideal for powering passive speakers. Featuring Euroblock connectors as well as two XLR and TRS inputs, and binding post outputs, you can choose to bridge channels one and two. This allows you to enter either stereo mode or bridged mono amplifier mode that delivers the full power in a single 8 Ohm load. Safe from short circuits and overloading, the SLA 2 features an ultrasonic network that decouples the RF from the output. Even with low impedance the SLA 2 is stable, supporting 4 Ohm loads.
Linear amplifiers require a considerable amount of power to operate, because of this they generate heat that can lead to problems. The SLA 2 utilises a SmartFan cooling system that measures its ambient temperature and adjusts itself accordingly to lower it to an optimal operating temperature. On the front of the SLA 2 are two pop-up gain knobs that you can use to attenuate the level of each channel, you can cover these with an included anti-tamper faceplate once tuned to your equipment. Despite most studio setups incorporating active and powered monitoring systems, you may prefer to use passive speakers to create and mix your music. If you own a passive monitoring system, chances are you need a linear amplifier to power your speakers without interrupting or distorting the input signal. Providing superior sound quality, the SLA-2 is a 400 Watt, two-channel linear studio power amplifier with two binding post outputs that support standard speaker cables. On the front panel are two recessed "pop out" gain attenuators that can be pre-set and then shielded with an included anti-tamper faceplate. Utilising toroidal transformers, the SLA 2 has a frequency range response of 10Hz to 40kHz.
To reduce interference and protect it from short circuits, the ART SLA 2 is constructed with extremely low noise components and signal isolating circuitry, an ultrasonic network decouples RF from the output to provide stability and prevent overloading with reactive loads. Additionally, the SLA 2 is extremely stable with low impedance loads. It can support loads as low as four Ohms, allowing you to connect a wider range of equipment that output quieter signals. With two different operating modes, you can bridge channels one and two to obtain either stereo mode or bridged mono mode that delivers the full power of the amp in an 8-ohm load.
