Urban Iron Bark delivers a strong mid-range performance, with an extended low-end to imbue extra body into your chords and rhythm playing. Paired with a Sitka spruce top and Taylor's V-class bracing pattern, you're awarded with plenty of projection and top end clarity.
Ample volume and sustain…
Make yourself heard. In addition to a punchy and wide tonality, the 514ce offers an incredible amount of volume and sustain in every note. Sitka spruce is naturally suited to projecting sounds thanks to its strength and elasticity, and combined with Taylor's V-class bracing to focus and hone its vibrations, the 514ce will clearly stand above an ensemble. And that goes for a variety of playing styles, aggressive strumming or delicate fingerpicking, both are enhanced by the lively and articulate voice of the 514ce.

…On a simply superb neck and fretboard. Presenting a Neo-tropical mahogany neck in a standard carve profile and a satin finish, you'll find it almost too easy to play. It offers virtually no resistance to your fretting hand, making for quick transitions around the scales an effortless task. Its standard carve profile is luxuriously comfortable to grip, making longer playing sessions much gentler on the wrist.
On top of that rests a premium quality West African crelicam ebony fretboard. It's Taylor's speciality and a wood they source and shape so well - delightfully smooth and responsive, it's suited to any style. Together with the Venetian cutaway, you can explore the higher registers with impunity and truly unlock your creativity.

It's Taylor, so you can expect nothing but the best. Adorning the headstock are Taylor nickel tuning machines designed to keep a firm hold of your strings. Working in tandem with a TUSQ nut, a Micarta saddle and an ebony bridge with ebony pins, your notes will ring out clear and true, with a vocal sustain and minimal irritating buzz.
Speaking of strings, the 514ce comes with an Elixir Nanoweb Phosphor Bronze set (0.12 - .053) that offers a crisp metallic tonality and an exceptionally soft feel.
