The original Fender Princeton was a low-powered amplifier, created as a portable solution to getting great valve tone. The amp found popularity in the studio due to its ability to create driven valve tones at a sensible volume level, and it became the secret weapon of countless players including Mac DeMarco, Pete Townsend, Gary Clark Jr., and even Jimi Hendrix!
The FSR '65 Princeton Reverb features 12 watts of valve power, making it the perfect unit to switch seamlessly from the practice room to the studio and onto the stage for small gigs and jam sessions. It has a single channel design for a vintage-style response to your playing dynamics along with built-in reverb and vibrato for the complete one-box tone package.
The '65 Princeton Reverb is loaded with Groove Tubes 6V6 power amp valves. These valves create a big and dynamic sound that provides room for the natural dynamics of your playing to shine through. The 6V6 tubes are fed with 12AX7 preamp tubes which create a range of tones from clean to overdrive, via the single-channel preamp controls with EQ. Single-channel amps are designed to be dialled in to a static sound, on top of which you control your gain level with guitar volume control adjustments and effects pedals. The '65 Princeton Reverb responds very well to booster and overdrive pedals, where the additional input can push the tubes into increased saturation and compression for smooth solo sounds. The amp also responds to your playing dynamics and guitar volume control adjustments, making for a highly interactive playing experience.
A tube-driven spring reverb effect drenches your tone in a lush ambience, helping to 'pad out' your sound and giving a range of reverb effects from a subtle tone widening to all-out ambient saturation. The '65 Princeton Reverb also has a tube-driven vibrato circuit which creates a tremolo sound for a classic vintage feel. The built-in effects make the Princeton a complete solution to shaping your sound and make it an ideal grab-and-go amp for jam sessions and small gigs where you need a no-fuss solution to getting a great sound with effects. A two-button footswitch provides on/off control for each effect which is perfect for live performance control.
The Eminence Cannabis Rex speaker is a 12'' driver with a clean and full sound. It provides plenty of body and sparkle with a smooth high-end definition. This makes it the perfect speaker for country, jazz, blues, vintage rock, and other low/medium-gain styles of music. The speaker is mounted in a birch/pine cabinet with an open back for a room-filling resonance and projection.
The FSR Princeton Reverb is covered in a lacquered tweed finish and features a Bassman-style grill cloth. The control panel is coloured like the Fender pre-CBS "Black Panel" design and gives this amp an instant vintage-look that will make a strong impression on stage or in your studio. The only way your audience and band mates will know that this isn't a true vintage amp is by its immaculate presentation and modern construction-quality. This amp gives you the best of vintage design and tonality, with modern built-quality and reliability.
