Stunning Aesthetics

The Luna Vista Bear is one of Luna's most aesthetically unique guitars known to date. The panoramic image is made up of a mixture of tonewoods deliver an excellent tone, along with stunning aesthetics. Each wood has its own natural grain patterning, Luna have managed to use these elements of nature to blend with their finest of art skills, to craft each layer of wood into a part of the native american landscape setting with the black bear image.

Tonewoods

The Vista Bear is crafted using a selection a high-quality tonewoods, which deliver a unique tone and a stunning appearance. The top wood is crafted from padauk, quilt maple, ebony, spalted maple, ovangkol, koa, and cocobolo. The ebony section brings an extremely bright attack, great sustain, and excellent durability. The padauk tonewood delivers clear overtones with a low to mid-end predominance, while the spalted maple will produce really tight lows and crystal clear highs. Ovangkol yields brilliant balance with tonal characteristics of richness and warmth, and an incredibly responsive bass section. Cocobolo is a dense, stiff tropical hardwood, it produces a overall bright tone, emphasised by sparkling treble notes, making an extremely sonically pleasing tonewood. The Vista Bear's back and sides are crafted from koa for enhanced tone and projection, koa produces a well-rounded, well-balanced, rich-warmth.

Mahogany Neck

The mahogany neck is topped with an ebony fingerboard that delivers a bright attack, sparkly highs that really shine through when using finger picking techniques. The neck is specially designed by Luna to provide a comfortable playing experience, ensuring that challenging notes and chords are within easy reach. The reason why many guitar necks are made from mahogany is because the wood responds greatly to picking styles, strumming, and various finger techniques with equal ease.

Grand Concert Cutaway

The grand concert shape has a solid mid-range register due to its smaller body and tapered waste. It has been described as the ultimate body cut for the stage and studio sessions. The tapered waste keeps overtones in check and contributes to the focused, articulate sound it projects. The grand concert body is significantly smaller than the grand auditorium shape, providing a big sound, in a comfortable design. It features a short scale and lighter string tension, making it easier to play. Finger-picking styled guitarists will fall in love with the clarity and precision of this exceptionally designed guitar body.

Fishman Presys +

The Fishman Presys+ is designed to offer maximum control and performance, in a small, compact setup. The sophisticated Presys+ system features; volume, bass, mids, treble controls, and built-in tuner, you can setup your Vista Bear to personal preference for live performances. The on-board tuner features a bright easy-read LED screen, making it easy to tune your guitar in the darkest of event-rooms or rehearsal spaces. The Presys+ preamp also includes a pre-wired Fishman Sonicore pickup, fitted, and ready to go. Extras include a low battery indicator and unique pivot design for easy access to the battery compartment.

Luna History

Yvonne Villiers is an accomplished stained-glass artist who envisioned Luna guitars. Her inspiration for a line of guitars designed to maximise playing comfort came from her mother, Hilda Villiers, a bassist for over 40 years. Whilst watching her mum on stage, Yvonne couldn't help but notice the massive struggle her mum had whilst playing. With her mum being petite and using such a heavy instrument, she used to complain of how hard it was to be a woman and try to play these big bass guitars. Yvonne then questioned if there were others like her mum that struggled with the same problems and pains. She came up with the idea of a woman specific guitar, uniquely tailored to fit their bodies, their hands, and their musical styles.

Yvonne moved on to created Luna guitars, a line of guitars made for female musicians of all ages and crafted with luminous visual beauty to engage women's minds and spirits along with their talent. Yvonne already had brilliant artistic skills and use of colour, she then applied the same techniques as she did with her award winning stained glass work to her new line of guitars. She is known for using rich colours that shimmer and shine with every movement providing an eye-catching design along with the great musical tones Luna guitars deliver.

Yvonne's design expertise has led so many men to respond to Luna's well-crafted, spirit-engaging instruments that the company now creates guitars for both female and male musicians of all ages.
