The Tanglewood Heritage features one of Tanglewood's most iconic body shapes, the Super Folk. Tanglewood began by shaping the guitar to specs of the modern industry for great playability, we now have the well-crafted super folk cutaway. The shape was first introduced over 25 years ago on their award winning TW45 Sundance Pro guitar. The super folk cutaway body has become a must have among folk players because it's a bigger version of traditional folk guitars, offering more volume and tone, in a comfortable shape. The cutaway design enables players to reach more challenging chords with ease. The super folk can handle many genres with equal ease, and will cut through a live mix greatly. The Heritage is especially perfect for those who specialise in the folk genre.
The Heritage Super Folk features a solid cedar top, offering a sonically pleasing warmth and stunning appearance. Cedar's tone is more well-suited to players with a lighter touch, as the tonal properties are enhanced through finger-style players. Cedar will deliver great volume, warmth, punchy tones, and a full, thick sound, offering superb tone and great playability. The cedar top is balanced out well by the mahogany back and sides, as mahogany is denser and produces a richer tone, with emphasised warmth in the mid and low ranges. The mahogany back and sides offer a rich characterised warmth, and is well-balanced with a bite of its own. Mahogany is used a lot in the acoustic world, because it is relatively economical, durable, attractive, easy to work with, and resonant.
The mahogany neck is topped with an ebony fingerboard that provides a very responsive bright, snappy, and crisp attack, coupled with a smooth sustain and bright top-end. The mahogany neck offers durability, strength, and added rich-warmth blended with great playability for the players pleasure. Mahogany is used frequently as timber for guitar necks because it provides durability, and the wood responds greatly to picking styles, strumming, and various finger techniques with equal ease. To provide added stability and durability, the Heritage features a one piece volute neck construction, this prevents the guitar from breaking at the weakest point.
The TW45HE Heritage comes equipped with a Fishman Presys Blend, providing players with an on-board preamp and tuner for precise and easy tuning. The compact system features volume, bass, mid, treble, notch, and mic blend rotary controls. In addition to these features the Presys Blend has a phase switch, and easy-read bright LED screen for tuning purposes. Presys preamps also include a pre-wired Fishman Sonicore pickup for solder-free, plug and play installation.
The Tanglewood Heritage is a well-crafted, beautifully designed electro-acoustic guitar that is finished with traditional styling and Tanglewood's sophisticated eye for ornate details. This stunning guitar features a striped sound-hole rosette and a marbled effect pick-guard, complemented by its cedar top colour, offering a high-end Tanglewood finish. For added elegance, the Heritage features genuine maple binding, unique mother-of-pearl inlays, and Tanglewood's signature brand logo, inlaid in abalone. The abalone inlay is complemented by gold hardware and luxury gold kluson style machineheads, offering a high-quality finish to a superb sounding instrument.
