The Bohemian Oil Can Bass Guitar in Surf Wax finish is one of many truly unique designs based on improvised tin-can instruments from the streets of South Africa. It is constructed from a hollow metal body which interacts with custom pickups to produce a truly original sound. The metal responds in a completely unique way when compared with traditional wooden guitars and allows for brand new tones to be achieved. The responsive metallic body allows the player to use percussive techniques which simply wouldn't work on traditional electric guitars. The range of Bohemian bass guitars feature strikingly different graphic designs to choose from. If you're looking for something truly different, you've found the right instrument here!
The Bohemian Surf Wax model from Bohemian Guitars features two bar-type pickups and is designed to be a modern and versatile tone machine. The pickups feature bright and slightly mid-scooped tones to give a modern sound. They can be blended using the two volume controls and could be the foundation of your new signature sound. The guitar body is finished with a stylish Surf Wax graphic design and will really stand out from the crowd.
The Bohemian Surf Wax Bass Guitar features a hollow metal body and is braced with wood for stability. It offers great resonance and unmatched responsiveness. The neck extends through the body to ensure stable tuning and performance. Each instrument features small rubber knobs to act as a built-in stand, and they have removable lids which are perfect for storing picks and small accessories. This is a lightweight guitar with an effortlessly stylish look.
Bohemian guitars now exclusively use maple necks for environmental sustainability and bright tones. They feature 20 frets with excellent access to the top frets and a familiar 30" scale length. For bassists, this will provide a familiar experience and mean that your riffs and techniques will transfer across easily to this instrument.
Chrome hardware is featured on Bohemian Bass Guitars with reliable closed screw-in tuners. A Hardtail Topload bridge allows for intonation setup and stable tuning. 2 volume controls and a tone control offer pickup blending and allow you to shape the tone to how you require.
Bohemian Guitars was founded by brothers Adam and Shaun Lee to replicate the improvised guitars that they had seen on the streets of their hometown of Johannesburg, South Africa. After bringing the idea to the USA and making instruments for friends and family, they took the plunge and formed a company with financial backing from KickStarter donations.
Bohemian Guitars produce instruments which have a truly distinctive look and sound. They have a vibrant community of players and endorsers, and an active participation in charity work. Bohemian Guitars are also committed to environmental sustainability by using partially recycled materials, less wood than typical guitars, and the use of sustainable forests or reclaimed timbers.
